Good stuff. I see why they are called strange stories. I’m looking forward to the next in the collection.

I read this book for a book club, and I'm not sure I would have finished it otherwise, unfortunately. Take my opinion with a pinch of salt, because I'm well aware that these kinds of stories are just Not For Me, but I just found these stories confusing and meandering, with no real message or theme to speak of. They didn't seem to go anywhere or find any kind of meaningful or even satisfying resolution in most cases. The stories were fairly easy to read, but I didn't enjoy them.

Ugh, that's so negative! I'm fairly sure this is a personal thing, because a lot of other people at my book club absolutely loved this book and absolutely did find meaning and theme in the stories. But I just like stories with a clearly delinated arc, and that's never going to change no matter how many surrealist books I read.
