Fascinating and exciting writing. This book collects Pinter's earliest plays and they are a joy to read. There's nothing much to feel good about here other than the writer's pure creativity and ability to make mundane, otherwise comfortable rooms into nightmarish hellholes. Many of the themes don't make themselves immediately clear but that's half the fun of reading, right?

this is a really great collection. Pinter has a way for making really odd and cryptic scenarios that still manage to be emotionally arresting and darkly comedic. definitely need to read more of these.
