Okay so I really had a hard time finishing this book. It's quite boring for me. Like it had a lot of scenarios which doesn't need to be there. A lot of fillers which aren't that interesting to read and makes the story long. Though it's not that of a long story. It's not entirely boring. It has some twist n turns as well... which amazed me. But comparing to the earlier 2 books I've read this book can't keep my interest.
I find Cameron's pov extremely boring. It would be better if I can get maven and cal pov much more. Like cal is the ultimate hero but where are his thoughts. At some points I got to know maven and his thought process as well but what about cal. His character doesn't have much to know about. His character seems so simple and plain to me. There's no interest, no fire , no love in his character.
I like Evangeline and his brother .. alteast they are loyal in some way or the other.
Overall this book aren't upto my expectations and the ending wasn't that surprising

OK so mare seems more like tvd Elena gilber to me. I mean what is she useful for except her lightining... that also she can't control much. Other newbloods want their powers and it seems like mare doesn't need anything. And she has feelings for whom? Cal? Maven? I'm confused.
Coming to maven he would be such a sweetheart if his sick mom haven't tortured him in her sick ways .
Cal.... I thought I liked him but atleast maven is more loyal than cal. Cal u have to fight for your loveeeee. If mare had chosen maven he would have married her and not that iris
About iris ig she is another useless character is story
Evangeline. Atleast she knows how to turn game. And her brother is such a good brother.
And idk why mare feels bad about her vacation at the palace. And while staying there she can't even be useful except knowing maven feelings which are gone already so what's the use.
I need shade so bad it would have been better if I got the story of shade and Farley atleast they are the power couple.
Mare should find another silver king and marry him and take revenge. I mean cal betrayed her just like maven.
But there are so much fillers in story making it so boring to read. I wished mare would've done something suspicious there like she used to lurk out in red queen to meet Farley. In the beginning mare was shown so strong in red queen and a rebel and after that ? She only used to pass sarcastic remarks to others that aren't even that sassy. There r so many interesting characters in story other than mare and cal.
Overall I don't like this book that much I wish to see what mare will do in the last book of this series.

The second half of this book made up for the 1st half, which was boring and hard to get through. I had no interest in Cameron's POV at all. I would have much rather like to get Farley's, Kilorn's or even Cal's POV. However, the second half was action-packed and full of surprises. I'm definitely excited to see where book 4 goes!
