Led me to being a: "Not a Happy Reader"
This was my first Lapena book and I'm quite unsure if I want to pick up another one... The story revolves around the 3 children who were made suspects in the murder of their parents after dinner. All had motive even the housekeeper.
This book dragged on for sooo long. Almost DNF'ed it. I think the only good thing was I really wasn't able to guess the killer at the end. That's it. The suspense was meh. I felt like watching an overly dramatic and overly long "soap opera". First part was okay but the bulk of the middle part was the story going around in circles. Not just one circle but crop circles!! to the point that it was borderline ridiculous. There's so much unnecessary conversation included. The last part was the murder reveal which was told anticlimacticly.
Honestly, the book can be cut down to 50 pages. I kept wishing it would end already. Sorry, not sorry.

Quite entertaining but not too suspenseful and there was really no twist in there either.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was engrossing and a real page turner where I don't wanna put it down. It kept me guessing from cover to cover.
