I may read “Audrey” and the New Year’s Eve story again. Those were by far my favorites.

My only fault is I wanted more from several stories. More as in what happens next!

I love Maeve Binchy, and I am sorry her voice is no longer part of this world. This collection of shorts just reminded me of what I loved about her; her ability to create characters that are imperfect, and tell stories that feel true, honest, and sometimes painful.

I loved these stories. Reading them felt like spending time with a dear friend who you haven't seen for a while. They're so full of warmth and friendship - the last one was my favourite.

An interesting collection of short stories about Irish women, with more acerbity, less happy resolutions, and a tarter treatment of characters than is usual for Binchy. As always the men are pleasant nonentities or cheating charmers. I did enjoy the many twist endings and the generally clever story ideas.

Took me awhile to get through this one. So many of the stories were about failed relationships and broken families

Very familiar Binchy stuff - no real stand-out stories.

I just love Maeve Binchy. I wish most of these short stories were actually novels. I can’t imagine how many more things there are to publish posthumously but I enjoy them all.

I read 50 pages of the new Maeve Binchy A Few of the Girls: Stories - 5 stories and am not going to finish. The stories so far are either bizarre, seem to abruptly end (not what short stories are supposed to do), cynical, and negative. It is not what I read Maeve Binchy for. I just read some other reviews that noted these were in fact scraps of writing she left behind and may not have meant to be published.

Her second to last novel [b:A Week in Winter|15990489|A Week in Winter|Maeve Binchy|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1346827587s/15990489.jpg|21746515] ended so abruptly I contacted Kennys to ask if maybe I had gotten a defective copy missing the last pages. They assured me that my book had the right number of pages and offered to take it back. Sending it back would have cost as much as the book did to begin with so I didn't.

I hate to taint my fondness for Binchy's unending optimism and wouldn't recommend this to her fans.
