I haven't read Eat, Pray, Love. The only other Elizabeth Gilbert book I've read is The Signature of All Things, which was excellent. City of Girls is not as good as that one, but it was better than I was expecting.

Broke my heart wide open. "At some point in a woman's life, she just gets tired of being ashamed all the time. After that, she is free to become whoever she truly is." I hope someday to be truly free.

*listened to the audiobook*

If you're looking for a book to transport you, to experience New York City in the 1940s, learning about the musical and theater scene, how the war impacted the city, and learning about yourself and how your actions have consequences to your friendships/relationships, this book is for you :)

I absolutely ADORED this book! It kept me so happy with all the glitz and glam and fictional history. I felt like it was written for me. I want more!
