I enjoyed this read, overall.

Jessica was an appealing character as she portrayed a teenage girl who does not instantly fall head-over-heals in “love” with the cute, intriguing and mysterious new boy. She has her own opinions and desires. She is strong-willed.

Lucius had great potential, in the beginning. He is dark and mysterious. He is intriguing. Yet, he moaned way too much about how things are/were better from where he grew up than how Jessica is living. A bit elitist at times. Yet, I liked his determination and then he won me over when he started to put Jessica ahead of his “plans”.

The whole vampire storyline was interesting as it took a different approach from what I am normally used to reading. The thing that troubled me most in the story was how quickly the relationship between Jessica and Lucius changed. There is a brief time when Jessica becomes jealous as she realized that she does like Lucius. At this point, Lucius has decided to live life…he is dating another. Instead of playing this part up and slowly bring Jessica and Lucius together, the story abruptly changes. The pace quickens and the two are saying terms of endearments to one another. gag.

Regardless of the quick turn of events in the story, Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark Side was a fun read. Dare I say, I almost…almost… liked it better than Twilight.
Okay…I still like Twilight better but Jessica’s Guide is a nice alternative.

If there is one thing I regret about this book, it's not reading it sooner! This is another book that has been on my shelf since July of 2012 and I am really kicking myself for not getting to it earlier. The whole vampire thing has been done to death but I admit I still like it. There was just something about this book I really enjoyed.

I found the storyline to be intriguing. Girl finds out she's vampire royalty and has been engaged since birth, to a completely gorgeous vampire prince no less. Jessica doesn't automatically fall in love with Lucius either, just because she's supposed to. At first she puts up a huge fight, saying she doesn't love him or want to marry him but she eventually realizes what a great guy he is.

I loved Jessica. She was strong willed and did what was right. If she didn't want to do something nobody was going to be able to change her mind. She's extremely caring and looks out for the people she cares about. Lucius on the other hand, believes himself to be a monster. That is not the case at all, he is sensitive, chivalrous, caring and ridiculously intelligent. He does have a dark side where he can get rather moody and even dangerous, especially when someone messes with Jessica!

I really didn't think I would like this one, especially in the beginning because I kind of thought Lucius was a stalker. I ended up being surprised by Lucius and how deep he actually was. This book definitely exceeded my expectations and I am extremely pleased that it did.

If you are looking for a book that has vampires, action and quite a bit of romance, then this one is definitely for you. The vampires in this novel drink actual blood and can be quite ruthless but they can also be extremely sensitive as well. So if you want a quick, fun read definitely check this one out.

First half of the book was 5 stars. Second half was 3, so all around, I evened it out and gave it 4. It just got a bit frustrating towards the end rather than satisfying. Jessica also completely changed about the same point. She just kind of suddenly started to care about her past and her old family. It just wasn't quite what it could have been

This is a romance story involving a high school girl and a handsome vampire prince. The down to earth, Jessica, is horrified when Lucius shows up on her front porch claiming that they have been set up for an arranged marriage since birth. The worst part is when her adoptive patents verify the arranged marriage and then explained that her parents are also vampires. The romance sizzles, the plot develops suspenseful lay, and the satire sings.

This is definitely a good read! If you don't want to read the second book, you really can stop with the first. Honestly I was not crazy over the second book but I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

I really enjoyed this book. It was so much more than I was expecting. There were lots of little twists I didn't see coming and I was pleased with the ending.

So I had seen this book many times when passing the teen zone at my local Library and thought it looks and sounds lame but who knew two months later I'd be reading it. Well to make this short & easy IT SUCKED (& I tell it like it is no matter what!). The storyline was ok but the overall book was just bad. I read up to page 15 & was bored so I decided to speed read the rest just so I could say I read it... & it sucked. lol if you like fast paced (though it was fast paced it was decent for fast paced) & a storyline that sounds like a horrible B movie or a badly made abc family movie then go on and read it but I suggest not to
