Okay! I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Not because it was good or anything, but because it wasn't mind numbingly torturous like the last four. The twist at the end of the story is actually great, and I love how the author explores Emma being found out. But THIS was what we needed four books ago! This certainly didn't have to be, and in fact shouldn't have been, a six book series. This should have been a duology, or even just a fat standalone. Though I did kind of enjoy the first and last books, the middle ones were absolutely horrible to try and get through and the bookends of the series don't sell me on it. Based on this series, I believe I will not be reading PLL like I planned to. To conclude, the beginning and end are okay, nothing great, and the middle is just a never-ending drag that will have you screaming in rage, and not in a way that a book is supposed to.
