This is a kids' nonfiction book so it won't go into as much detail as a similar one for adults would. But I found it to be a little disjointed. Every flip of the page spreads was a new creature and they didn't always connect across species or other linking subject. There's good general info about various species from sharks to whales to the minuscule zoo- and phytoplankton, like their size and diet and some physiology pointers, but it seemed like otherwise random facts with no consistency for why they were provided and very little context for some of the facts. Perhaps more captivating to a young readers' mind who hasn't already read many (adult) books on the subject.
