A lot of exciting elements here - fun locations, a love triangle, multiple villainous factions with different aims - but it doesn't quite fulfill it's potential beyond being just generally diverting.
How Indy is it...
8/10 - Most of the usual elements are present, just maybe taking a bit too long to get to the adventure and lacking the level of action you expect because of it.

I read this in one day and honestly was glad it was over. Something was definitely missing for me. My favorite thing about it was Indy's friend Jack but other than that I was less than impressed, even if the actual topic intrigued me.

These books are still entertaining enough, but the cracks are beginning to show through. MacGregor has a hard time wrapping up the story, and there are long portions of it that are tedious to read. I'm starting to see, too, how much he tells with his narrative; I didn't get that feeling with the earlier books, but this one? Hoo boy.
Three different authors wrote the entire line of Indiana Jones novels (not counting Steve Perry, who wrote one over ten years after this series concluded), and I'll be interested in seeing another author's take on the character. The Genesis Deluge was a 2.5-star read, tops.

This was a really enjoyable Indiana Jones adventure. The writer has a good grasp on the character of Indiana Jones and has done a good job of crafting new characters for the series, especially Jack Shannon. I look forward to reading more.
