I don’t know why but I liked this even less than War’s book. But I don’t want to give it less stars because the beginning of this book was the best out of the 3. I’m torn.
Besides that amazing start, the story itself was exactly the same as the other two. Same tropes, same dialogues. The ending was kind of ridiculous. I will still read the 4th book since I’m already committed to finishing this series but I’m not looking forward to it.

The whole series is good. All of the books work through huge character developments

It's the exact same as the first two books. I'd rather not read the same book with different names for a 3rd time.

*slight spoilers*
This book caught me so off guard. When I started it I thought it was decent. Nothing too special and I very much preferred the first two.
I don't quite know when that started to change but there is something amazing about a strong-willed, badass,  sassy fmc that worked so well in this book and I grew to love it.
I saw someone describe Famine as a "cinnamon roll" and I thought that was a joke until about 100ish pages from the end when I started sobbing.
Do not mistake me, this book is violent and really questions your morality, especially when it comes to the mmc BUT there is a story of redemption to be found in everyone of you look hard enough and I think that is what this author is good at writing.

my fave out of the series so far, holy shit.
famine and ana are the most likable main characters we've had imo, and their romance and banter is so sweet.
i feel like they were a really good balance of enemies to lovers, and after reading pestilence + war back to back, i was wanting a female main character who actually wasn't gonna try and change their horseman, even understand his cause. and i got exactly that!
