First of all.... Aaaaaaargh! This is the first book in a series... that is the sequel to another series with 6 books and 4 short stories /0\ That means that I missed a lot of the references and a lot in the characters' dynamics :(

Nevertheless, I really liked the story, I found the mystery really well done, and the characters are all really interesting, so I'll be going to stop here and I'm going to read the original series :P

When Rhys announced she was diving back into the Cole McGinnis books, I nearly peed my pants. This was among the first MM series I read and I fell in love with Cole and Jae. And then she gave me Bobby and Ichi, who remain one of my all-time favorite couples. Saying I was excited for this book is an understatement.

And man, it did not disappoint. I read this book with a big smile on my face because it was so wonderful to be spending time with friends I hadn't seen in a while.

I love this new chapter of Cole and Jae (HUSBANDS!
I am so happy these guys told Rhys they had more stories to tell, because I've really missed them. I loved the first book in this series and cannot wait for the next one!

Ahh, Cole & Jae-Min!

I'd re-read the first series not long ago, when I couldn't afford new books, and enjoyed it even more the second time. Plus, it meant I needed no refreshers on who was who for this book. I was delighted that this series starts after Cole and Jae-Min have enjoyed five years married. That's a good solid base of understanding. Love that.

All that said, and aside from the murder mystery which was fine, this one wasn't quite as cleanly edited as previous books. The publisher's being awful to many of its authors, and while Ford supports them, maybe they're starting to fail her, too.

Here's what really counts; that setup at the end has me intrigued. That is the goal of every first book in a series.
