A collection of 17 short stories by Dorothy L. Sayers. I generally love reading Sayres, but this book was definitely a mixed bag and was of uneven quality. Two of the stories featured Lord Peter Whimsey, five highlighted the detecting skills of traveling salesman Montague Egg, and the rest went from the amusing to the supernatural. Not my favorite volume by Dorothy L. Sayers.

Egg and Wimsey stories were good, all the others were super boring.

Unfortunately the use of the N word occurs often enough in these short stories to taint the entire collection. They are also a little random, as if Sayers was experimenting with styles.

A collection of short murder mysteries. They are not quite as predictable as they felt on occasion.

A collection of short stories, some involving Lord Peter Wimsey, some another recurring detective character, and some stand alones. I like the ones that involved the other detective the best (I forget his name -- he's a traveling salesman) and the stand alone one that will haunt me was Blood Sacrifice. The short story aspect was appreciated given all of the upheaval going on during the weeks I was reading it.

This is a great sendoff for Peter and Harriet.
