Great exploration of what it means for young people to face some real truths about limits and expectations.

Chelsea is an excellent, hard working gymnast. She wants to be better, but can she really make it at the elite level?

Gymnastics is a tough sport. I know. I watched my son for 14 years. I was lucky(!) he isn't competitive. But I think girl gymnasts have a tougher time anyway.

Although it was probably done for the convenience of the story, I wasn't happy with the way the coaches and trainers didn't sit Chelsea down and explain their decisions to her. Yes, it happened eventually, but surely, someone knew how much she was hurting....

There's a lot about friendship, family and of course, being able to say and hear true things. Strong writing, positive messages, and a real terrific resolution.

An excellent middle-grade to young-YA novel about determination, finding your limits, pushing those limits, and figuring out what is important to you in life. It's a delight to read a book centred around an ordinary young person striving for excellence.
