Beautiful book.
I just wish it had a different ending....

The quiet spare text of this story of Winnie and her relationship with the Tuck family offers an abundance of philosophical questions about life and death for students to consider. Originally rated this a three, but having gone back and re-read it this summer--2012-- I'm appreciating the richness of the conversations that Babbitt's writing opens up.

Read this book to fulfill my POPSUGAR prompt of “a book that was turned into a musical”… Because I already had that in my mind I kept getting “into the woods” vibes while I read it even though it’s a very different story. Definitely not what I was expecting but I enjoyed it nonetheless!

My favourite book from my childhood. I've read it again since I was an adult and it was still as wonderful as I remembered. Such a magical story.

Love the concept, hate the execution. I read this years ago and loved it, but now I can't move past the uh.... Kidnapping? I tried not to be overly sensitive but at every turn their behavior became more inexcusable.
