My last review didn't age well... this comic's really not holding back!! I actually teared up when Cream lost all her usual cheer after losing Vanilla to the virus, particularly when she was just telling Amy that getting sad didn't make sense because she knew things will turn out alright in the end, and it was important to keep up the morale. Well... I guess losing your whole family does that to you, even Cream. It was still so chilling to see her greet Sonic with such a dead look and voice.
Then Tangle's sacrifice and Whisper's agony... Mr. Flynn is lesbophobic for doing this to the furry girlfriends!! I keep liking Tangle more and more; she's so silly and eager, boldly heroic... the lemur lesbian we deserve.
I can't predict how they're going to fix this entire mess. It's actually the most miserable and horrifying storyline in Sonic media I've ever been exposed to. I really like Eggman's characterization and his dynamic with Starline. Poor man... it's an interesting turn, to have Eggman's associate turn on him in this way, after disillusionment.
I like the increasing friction between Sonic and crew, too, how they keep piling the shame onto him, who's already constantly regretting and doubting his decisions. But it's so real how he just doesn't give up on anyone. At the same time, it's hard not to get upset at him, especially when it all seems so hopeless... I'm kind of dreading the next volume, because leave my boy alone...!!

Seeing how dark this is getting makes me wonder if they actually eased up on the emotion restrictions they placed on Sonic in the past… because it’s getting brutal as more and more Resistance members succumb to the virus.
Those bonds that were so positive and fun in the beginning are ripping my heart to shreds. But I like the angst so it’s fine.
I’m definitely wondering how this will all be resolved, because the image looks very bleak at the moment!!

Mostly action and set up for what's to come in the next volume, Last Minute is still a huge amount of fun. Great art, some too character moments and the stakes feel really high by the end of it. This series is still going strong!
