Men of Danger by Lorie O'Clare, Red Garnier, Alexis Grant, Lora Leigh

In Reckless & Yours, Red Grainger needs to learn the meaning of the adjectives she uses and apply them properly. Jerky writing.

Alexis Grant's Tempt Me was nicely done.

Lora Leigh's Hannah's Luck is sorta, kinda Elite Ops-ish (seems to take place after the surprise attack on the group in the cave). Sweet story.

Lori O'Clare's Love Me 'Til Death was sweet.

Hannah’s Luck by Lora Leigh

Sheriff Rick Grayson is a single father now. Due to a ruthless act on her part, she got messed up with some evil men and was murdered.

Kindergarten school teacher Hannah Brookes hears someone trying to break into her home late at night. She calls the police. Whoever was trying to break in runs away when they hear the sirens. Sheriff Grayson arrives. He installs a security system but that is not what Hannah really needs. What she really wants is Rick.

Reckless and Yours by Red Garnier

When Paige Avery walks into a room, heads turn. Zach Rivers is not immune to Paige’s beauty. In fact he wants her for himself. Zach did have her at one point a long time ago. Can he win her back?

Tempt Me by Alexis Grant

Anita Brown is an R&B singer. Just like any famous celebrity come the stalkers.
Zachary Mitchell has agreed to do a favor for his good friend, Lowell. Lowell runs a security business. Zach now finds himself playing bodyguard to Anita. Will Zach and Anita become the next Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner?

Love Me Til Death by Lorie O’Clare
Ashley Jones is a homicide detective. Her current murder case involves a dead girl. It appears as though there is a connection with another case. One that the FBI are working on.

Special Agent Chase Reed has teamed up with Ashley. Chase can’t help but admire Ashley. Unfortunately the admiration seems to be one sided. Ashley can’t stand the thought of the FBI honing in on her case. Can Ashley learn to play nice before the killer strikes again?

Men of Danger is like ordering a sampler. You get to try out a little bit of everything from sexy sheriffs to special agents. I enjoyed reading these stories. Both Alexis Grant and Lorie O’Clare are new to me authors. After reading what they had to offer, I plan to check out both ladies full length novels. Often times with anthologies, the stories can seem rushed. This was not the case with this anthology. There was plenty of action and romance. In fact, I kind of didn’t want the stories to end. I didn’t really have a favorite as I liked all four stories. Men of Danger should come with a warning…”Extreme Heat Ahead”.

all of the stories were really good about safe sex and consent, except the last one, love me til death, had minor issues with both

Wow. I'm really glad I didn't buy this book, it was one I happened to pick up at the library. The stories are short. Like, real short. Four in this book. Which means the authors were not only cramped in their style, they really had to work fast and it didn't make for good reading. I ended up skimming most of the stories. I'm not going to count any of these authors out by I'm also not going to look for them on purpose.
"Hannah's Luck" by Lora Leigh-Kindergarten teacher Hannah Brookes is living a simple life. She's been attracted to the sheriff, Rick Grayson, for a long time now but he was burned by his wife (she was feeding information to a home-grown terrorist group as well as sleeping around on him and doing cocaine.) Now, it seems that Hannah's being targeted by the militia group and Rick is there to make sure that she stays safe. For a short story, there were some inconsistencies including one character was described as having three children then later as having one. Probably would give this one 2 out of five.
"Reckless" by Red Garnier-Paige Avery was in a horrible accident that stole her memory. Her mother immediately whisked her away from Phoenix, but now she's back to try and sell their house as well as discovery her missing past. Zach Rivers was part of that past and he intends to help her solve her past. He's also been obsessed with her ever since and wants to work his way back into her life. 2 out of 5.
"Tempt Me" by Alexis Grant-I've not read any Grant stories before so I don't know if she writes like this always but some of the "thug" talk really threw me off. Anita Brown has finally chucked her family out of her life. She's an R&B star whom they've been sponging off of for years and she's sick of it. Since they were providing her security detail, she now needs some new bodyguards. Zachary Mitchell is on leave and offers to fill in for his buddy. It's like the Bodyguard. Definitely would have been good as a full-length or at least a Harlequin Presents. We don't get much of an ending. 3 out of 5
"Love Me 'Til Death" by Lorie O'Claire-Like the last one, I wish this one could have been fleshed out more because I think I probably would have enjoyed it quite a bit. Ashley Jones is a homicicde detective whose scene has just been invaded by special agent Chase Reed. Why does he get involved? Because he's there. No other connection that I recall. They fall in lust, he tries to horn in on the investigation even though they're not even in his jurisdiction. Didn't like how this story was put together but it was okay. 2 out of 5.

This is for Hannah's Luck.

1. What happened to her dog?
2. In the beginning Mae had 3 kids, all of whom Hannah had had in her class ( bearing in mind that Hannah was early 30's at most, which would put Mae's 3 kids... well, the eldest 12? )... by the end Mae must've been much older and only had one kid who had died in combat & a dead husband too ... now considering how short this tale was... tsk tsk tsk.
3. I was glad that Rick had his own tale told... liked him.
4. I wanted an epilogue.
5. What actually happened with the rest of the Militia? If 2 years had passed & there was still some activity of a sort... why wasn't it sorted?
6. What about his kid? I know he was at summer camp, but he should've been taken in consideration along with the declarations of love.
7. What was the point of his brother visiting?
8. What was the point of Sienna's brother?
9. If they hated the Sheriff that much... why didn't the Militia just kill him sooner? Two years is an awfully long time to bide one's time... especially if 'they take care of their own'...

But, I actually quite liked it... am a sucker for a donewrongby Sheriff and the sortofshy school teacher type. Sort of reminded me of Kristen Ashley's 'Breathe'... sort of.
