The plot was interesting, but I didn't care for the writing style or the dialogue in this book. It was an easy book to follow and over all a solid thriller, but I just wanted more from the back story if our killer and how he came to be who he was.

Forensic sculptor Eve Duncan is a strong woman. So strong, in fact, that she draws yet another wacko into her universe in her quest to find the body of her murdered daughter, Bonnie. Johansen delves deeper into the paranormal in this newest entry in the series, which actually made the book more interesting for me. Johansen is an excellent writer, but I don't think that Eve Duncan has the dimension to sustain the ongoing series. She needs to find her Bonnie so that she, and those who love her, will finally find a little peace. I would really like to see this author move on to fresh ideas and the depth of storytelling that I know she is capable of.

Good plot as always, but a little weird. Still not entirely sure I understand the character of Seth....

We have a serial killer on the loose, who thinks he is a vampire, and he thinks your blood will give him the ultimate power..... This is my first and probably the last book I read by Iris Johansen. I'm all about the supernatural...but I just couldn't get into this book. I don't know if it was the writing style, the conversations between ghosts and the living, or just the supernatural theme to the book. I wanted to like Johansen, especially because I have purchased other books of hers and she lives and writes about the Atlanta area, but it just wasn't the case. A big let down, in my opinion, I think you really need to enjoy Johansen's reading style to read.

I do like this series, and this one is as enjoyable this time as the first time I read it.

I do recommend that you begin with the first book in the Eve Duncan series and read them in order as much as possible. Though they do stand alone, the continuity really adds to the enjoyment of the books.
