Very quick read, but very powerful. In 3 sentences and many mixed-media visuals, it makes you think. What's it like to live life as a Black person in America in 2022? Covid-19, news, breathing, family, racism... all around the theme of

taking
a
breath.

"high definition glare of low-definition life"
"and I'm sitting here wondering..."

A beautiful wonderful book that I feel I must read a thousand times over to fully appreciate and take in. Even then, I feel I’d have more to see and hear and understand.

This book!!! This hit me in ways I was not expecting. I couldn't put it down, and the way it was written, I didn't need to. This is a book I could read over and over, and probably will.

each page was an adventure. i was smiling at one page and tearing up at the next. sometimes it’s hard to think back on 2020 because of the mess. i felt so disassociated from my life, as i’m sure many others can relate. this book is an excellent depiction, in words and art, about that time when things were so hard and breathing took effort. things aren’t a walk in the park, and breathing doesn’t come naturally at times, but we are figuring things out as much as we can.
