I am a fan of Alyssa Rose Ivy's and I really like her Hazards series. The stories and characters are great, and I know that I am going to enjoy them a lot. However this one was not the same at all. It felt kind of forced to me, and I just wasn't feeling it. As much as I was hoping to love this friends to lovers Christmas novella, I found that I was a bit disappointed with this one.

Savy and Glen are best friends, and have been since they were kids. Their grandparents always rented cabins in Colorado for Christmas, and the tradition has continued years later. While Savy and Glen only see each other once a year, they call and text each other year round. But when they end up kissing under the mistletoe, things change between them. Now a year has gone by, and they haven't spoken to each other since that night. Glen realizes that he made a mistake, but will Savy be able to forgive him?

Glen and Savy were cute together, and I did feel as though they had a good connection between them. They had a lot of history and tradition behind them which helped a lot. But I also felt that while they had a good base for a relationship, that things between them didn't really happen in a great way for me. They didn't really spend much time together. They didn't have great communication, despite talking and texting being the basis of their friendship. I wanted these two to ease into the transition of becoming more than just friends, but it just felt rushed. I felt like these two had the attraction between them, but it just didn't really spark the way that Alyssa's characters usually do.

While this one was cute and had some holiday cheer to it, it just wasn't what I have come to expect from Alyssa Rose Ivy and her Hazards series. I liked the characters, but didn't love them. I wanted to feel more of a connection to them and between them, but I just never did. I felt that the story had a bit of a forced and rushed feeling to it, and I didn't really like the jump in time of a year. But I also felt as though the dialogue was confusing at times as well. Sometimes it almost seemed as though I had missed something, and I would have to go back to check. I will say that I did like Dalton and Laney's characters a lot, and I think that they are both interesting enough to have their own stories. I hope that maybe we will get those in the future, especially Dalton's. I really like Alyssa Rose Ivy and her Hazards series, and would definitely recommend the series to NA fans. But this one just wasn't the same for me.

This was a cute read and I really liked both Glen and Savannah and I especially liked them together. However, I wish that this story had been a full novel instead of a novella. I think that the story seemed a little rushed and I didn't fully connect with the characters enough to fall really in love with them. There was just enough of a connection for me to enjoy the story but not to feel invested in them. This goes for the secondary characters as well. I really liked Dalton right away and could totally see him getting his own story. Same goes for Laney.
I also wish that there had been some sort of follow-up to Savannah's relationship with her mother, maybe a reconciliation of sorts?
Overall though I enjoyed this story, I just wish that there had been more to it.

The Hazards of Mistletoe is an adorable perfect Christmas story from the Hazards series. I had such a fun time reading it.

I loved the setting of the story.Something about snowboarding in Colorado makes me think Christmas. I’ve never been there but it just seems like the perfect place. Plus I like that it takes place over multiple Christmas breaks, so you skip all the drama during the year in between. Ha ha. I could picture the whole thing, hot chocolate, sleigh rides and snowboarding. I think it helped that I read this when it’s been oddly snowing outside.

Savvy(Savannah) is such a sweet girl and it’s hard not to like her. I felt so angry for her with the stuff that went down with her mom. Then Glen goes and does something super dumb which doesn’t help. She kept saying she wasn’t that close with her dad but it felt like that side her family was tight. I think she didn’t realize how good of a relationship she actually has with him. I loved the way her grandfather and her are close as well.

The interesting thing about the story is that I felt like it’s more heavy on the Glen side. Savvy has her problems but I felt like the majority lay with Glen. He did a dumb thing but he also had a sort of good reason. I’m never a fan of people being concerned about how deserving they are of things. You don’t think you deserve it? Then work for it. I liked Glen a lot though and the things he does for Savvy are adorable.

I loved that Savvy’s dads girlfriends kids (mouthful there) are part of the story. Gives another layer to the family aspect. Plus it seems like there is a possibility it’s not the last we'll hear about Laney. Dalton kind of creeped me out. If he was in my face like that I would have decked him within the first five minutes. He was weirdly pushy.

The whole story was cute and perfect for christmas. I loved the setting and the romancing, the perfect read to curl up with some hot chocolate. I loved that Savannah and Glen have been friends forever and it blossoms into something different. Great holiday read.
