This is definitely a book for the guys, but I've always been fascinated with stories involving assassination and had to go for it. Author Pete Mesling has a killer feel to his writing, and the characters do over the top actions but come off as realistic. It's a nice story. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

The Portable Nine commit vigilante justice to right the wrongs of the world.  To these skilled mercenaries, the end always justifies the means.  Each member possesses a special talent for fighting evil.  The evil in The Portable Nine is Black Phantom.  The Portable Nine ban together after years of dormancy to take down Black Phantom, but the mission becomes complicated when one of their own is seen as a traitor.

Pros:
Fast-paced vigilante justice - all the dangerous action of any blockbuster movie
Humor injected throughout the violent storyline which lighted the stress level
Mash-up of Ocean’s Eleven, 6 Underground, and The Suicide Squad made this a fun summer read!

What I wanted more of:
Character History - I wanted more backstory on the individual members and flashbacks to past assignments. I’m intrigued and want more!
Finish some dangling storylines - hopefully, Mesling will revisit The Portable Nine in future novels.  I can genuinely see this becoming a series!
