Petals to the Metal is one of my favorite mini-arcs within The Adventure Zone's Balance campaign. Fast and Furious references, a race, not burying your lesbians plus starting to get snippets of the broader plot with the Hunger and the Red Robes... really fascinating to continue watching how an audio narrative gets translated into a visual, and how plot and hints can be better organized knowing what's to come/smoothing over continuity errors/etc.

I'm curious as to how TAZ goes for someone experiencing it first through the graphic novels instead of the podcast! Certainly faster to get through.

The colours and art in this one were off the charts!!! Also the ending made me tear up; I LOVE HURLEY AND SLOANE SO ! MUCH !

I eagerly await Crystal Kingdom (and hopefully the pending release date will force me to finish that arc in the podcast)!!

didn’t expect to cry over this one but here we are. between carey’s wonderful way of bringing the intensity of battle-wagon races to life as well as the characters and the new revised story of hurley & sloane, i couldn’t be happier. seeing these men take constructive criticism and changing the story for the graphic novel after they accidentally fell into the “bury your gays” trope in the initial podcasts is such a breathe of fresh air. seeing the “red robes” really speak for the first time brought me so much joy. i cant wait for this time next year for more inspiring lucretia monologues, grim reaper boyfriends and pink tourmaline <3
