A beautiful story I read aloud to my 9 year old daughter about the long journey a young girl takes with her family and thousands of carriers from Kyoto to Edo (now Tokyo) in the 17th century.

The illustrations in this book did an amazing job capturing the essence of Hiroshige's woodblock prints. I got to see an exhibit of his prints while I was in Rome several years ago and this book reminded me of that cool experience.
