A collection of interesting stories about Celtic folklore that is hard to find anywhere else. I loved how it read like a person telling you a campfire story and how each story was dated when it was collected.

This book was interesting and had some fun stories, but I enjoyed the poetry more. Poetry is one thing that I have to be in the right mood for and what was written in this book was just enough to scratch the itch, so to speak. The writing sent me back to a forgotten time, however briefly. It was like listening to stories by a fire.

Overall, it felt like sitting in a park with a bunch of older people reminiscing about the past/stories told over the campfire, poetry, and a college lecture.

How ridiculous to rate W. B. Yeats, for God's sake.

This is a lovely collection of folklore and tales about encounters with faery people in County Sligo in Ireland, where Yeats lived for many years. Yeats as the collector of tales is present in the book, as he uses the first person to describe who told him the tales and what the circumstances were. Even the longest are only a few pages, and many are less than a full page, so they are easy to read in quick snippets when you have a few minutes--lunch breaks or waiting for the bus, for example.

Not as interesting as I thought it would be, although an enjoyable read.
