Vladimir Tod, half-human half-vampire, just started his 11th grade when he finds out that Joss, his ex-bestfriend who tried to kill him, is coming back to town. No doubt to try to finish what he started. Vlad already broke up with Meredith without explaining to anybody why he ended it. And Eddie Poe is still trying to out him that he is a vampire. He has also finally admitted that he is the Pravus of the prophecy. But somethings are good. Otis agreed to stay in Bathory to train and be with him, as well as Vikas. He has a new drudge, Snow, which he is trying to figure out how she fits into his life. We meet new characters, meet some of the old ones and get to see more of the vampire council.
This book definitely has its ups and downs, but overall keeps having that ironic sense of things that just makes me love the author. Let's keep on seeing which type of person Vladmir Tod ends up growing up.

Otis moves into Vlad's old house. (Yay!) And Vikas moves to town. Also, Joss is back! And we get to see more of Snow and the goths!

Dorian was an interesting character. I was never sure if he was a villain or a friend, but I liked him.

Vlad learns some fighting moves from Vikas, (About time!) And he's getting pretty good with his super strength and speed!

The only part I didn't like was watching Vlad mope about his ex girlfriend! He broke up with her to protect her, but I didn't really like her anyway. Their relationship was more crush than love.

The ending absolutely sucked. It was sickening, honestly, to have such a horrid cliffhanger like that. Not only that, but I grew immensely attached to the character of Dorian, so the fact that he died...

Oh ugh, I actually threw the book across the room in my angry frustration. Sad thing is, I'm a sucker for books that end like that, because I can't ever give up on them. I pine for more. I thirst for more.

So, I will eagerly and impatiently wait for the grand finale to be released. And it had better be soon.

This one had a lot more going on than the rest of the books thus far have had. It felt better paced, though still a predictable plot. Also, that twist ending? C'mon, like that couldn't be seen a mile away
