I don't like football, but I loved this book. Very interesting characters, a great plot, and a really unique world. Definitely going to look for more!

Even though this is very football heavy and I know nothing about football, it's still a really good read. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

For someone who doesn't know anything about American football, I still really enjoyed it.

Let's be clear. I don't care about or even understand football, and I am not generally interested in this type of science fiction with lots of aliens. But I loved this book! It was entertaining, appealing, and engaging. I really cared about the characters and the plot was compelling on several levels. I chose to read it because I have the opportunity for the author to visit the library where I work, so I thought that I should at least know what the book was about. Even though the book contains detailed descriptions of football games, I still really enjoyed it. I am excited to meet the author, too!

It took me a while to get into this, mainly because the main character was so unlikeable. But I stuck with it and feel good for having done so, even if Murica football is a mystery to me.

An extremely enjoyable fusion of football and sci-fi, adding another chapter to the Sigler-verse. Full of interesting new characters and the age-old struggles of teamwork, compromise and defining who you are in the broader world.

A great young-adult book that started as a simple plot but added some good twists that made it more interesting and less predictable.

Favorite quotes:

1. "Ever notice how you play better when you're made?"

2. "this team won because of YOU, Quentin, because of your leadership ... any one of these beings would follow you straight into hell. ... They'll follow you. I'LL follow you."

Listened to this from Audible, narrated by the author. Great production. They had the crowd noises, sports show broadcasts, the works.

Fun book, and I kept wanting to go back to it.
