I'm a huge Firefly and Serenity fan, and it was great to see my old friends again.

This first issue hits all the basic points of an episode of Firefly (witty banter, gun fight, chase scene, angsty tension between Mal and Inara, River being weird, more banter), but doesn't really have the ineffable awesomeness that made the show so great. It's just the first issue though, so I plan to keep reading and see where it goes.

Re-read. Still a good tale, bridging the gap between Firefly's end and the start of Serenity. Lovely and scary, but far too short!

Attempts to narrate the Firefly universe between the end of the televised series and the movie.

IMHO the movie suffered as the narrative tone went from plucky to epic. Similarly, the story does not excite as this work is a bandage, plugging holes that should never have existed in a first place and appearing rather insignificant compared to the bookends on either side.

This feels so much like an episode of the show, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a script leftover.
Simply put, I like it and I want more.

I really like this bridge between the show and the movie. Great art, and I loved the bonus writings about the history of the Firefly universe and from Nathan Fillion. If you loved the show and love comics, give this a try!

I found the comic unsatisfying. I love the TV series and the movie, so I though this would be a fun read. I was wrong.
