I would rate the story itself a 3. The timeline and information is correct but without background knowledge, the reader would be a little lost. The characters are also not very deeply developed. However, when I do book clubs using this book with my 3rd grade classes, every single student is fully engaged. They love it and we have great discussions! For this reason, I had to bump it up to 4 stars.
