3 // Well hello there. I think this books succeeded in promoting the ideals of minimalism through transferring a more philosophical approach to the matter, however it wasn't really a guide on how to achieve it. Perhaps it never was marketed as a "how to" guide and I am just a dingus (very likely), but I think if you are wanting read this out of a desire to understand the realistic process of becoming minimalist, this will not be helpful to you. This is something one should read if they are just thinking about minimalism and whether they should even try it out or not. It is more so a book of the theoretics rather than practicality.

Keeping all that in mind, I would overall say that this book is somewhat worth reading. It's short, and although sometimes repetitive (especially with its constant references to Steve Jobs lol), it is an interesting introduction to minimalism.

I listened to the audiobook while sorting through my belongings and it felt as if the book spoke to me directly. It has a smooth pace and I found it to be a nice complementary read to Marie Kondo’s ‘Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up’.

Loved it! I've read a few books on the subject and this is the only one I'd come back to or suggest to a friend. He addressed a lot of the major points where I get hung up on getting rid of things in an approachable and helpful way. This really helped to kick start my journey with less again.

I want to reduce what i have and scale down my home more, but i didn’t find this book that inspiring.  it was kind of shaming.
