This book makes a bit more sense now that I am reading the descriptions online that explain that the stories in it could have taken place during any of the three previous books.

A warning: one of the chapters (I think it was The Park in the Park) contains an offensive (although I am sure it was considered unremarkable and entertaining in Travers' time) representation of Native American culture. You might choose to skip that chapter altogether when reading with kids or be prepared to give some context and foster a discussion.

Another Mary Poppins book in the bag

This installment of the series incorporated fairytales coming to life or appearing out of "picture books" and interacting with the Banks children. I liked the concept but admit I had trouble being interested.

I read the series many years ago, but it is very different from the movie and highly recommend reading all of them!

Honestly my least favourite book in the series. This collection of short stories all take place in the park but they're lacking the spark and cohesion of the original trilogy. It was nice to revisit every character in Halloween but this collection just sent me and miss 6 to sleep
