Continuing in the vein of the first two installments of the series, this book is a lot of fun. I preferred the romance between Quinn and Hunter more than the ones explored in the first two books. I particularly liked Hunter's character and getting a better understanding of the Helios-Ra. Would recommend if you're looking for a fun, quick read.

I love the witty banter between Hunter and Quinn. It makes you blush, giggle, and turn into a high school fan girl with the shrieking and the whole bit. The story was cliche but still good. I love the relationships in this book. So if you want a good plotline read something else but if you like character development and witty fun then this is the book for you. Loved it.

I tried to hate Quinn but I ended up liking him. XDD Sighs guess you cant stop these things. I think its better than Blood Feud. I thought without Solange’s main enemies they would be without a plot and action . But boy was I dead wrong XDD I forgot about the Hel-Blar and the Helios-Ra.
From Pg.1 I was already hooked on by Hunter’s humor, bluntness even though her she is a person who follows the rules, kind and not hard core about killing Vamps. It was a delight to read her displaying her skills and how strong she is to deal with anything. It was also fun to see Quinn change because of a girl which he thought couldn’t happen since he is undoubtly a player.

Out for Blood is set a week after Blood feud where Helena is about to be crowned as queen, more Hel-Blar are attacking Violet hill and it is the start of a new year for the students at the Helios-Ra academy.

Out for Blood (like all of Alyxandra Harvey’s books so far) has a good mix of Humour action and romance. This book is like a lot of YA paranormal romance books, where it is set in a boarding school and where a vampire and a vampire hunter have a star-crossed romance, but Harvey writes this book brilliantly so I don’t mind if it is not as unique as her other Drake books.

I really understand and like hunter and how she always does what is right no matter how she is pressured not to and also how she acts when she is fighting want she should do and what she wants to do, which I think is very realistic. The romance in this book is good but I did not feel that Hunter and Quinn had as much of a spark as Lucy and Nick or Logan and Isabeau but I did like the start-crossed nature of their romance.

This book seems to have more supporting characters than the other books with Hunter’s friends and teachers at the academy, and while I like the drakes it was nice to get to know different characters such as Chloe and Spencer.

I would recommend this book to those who like the rest of the drake chronicles.

In Out For Blood, the 3rd book in the Drake Chronicles, Hunter Wild, a Helio-Ra student must fight an unknown illness & her attraction to the vampire Quinn.

After reading the first two books in the Drake Chronicles series, I was very excited to read Out For Blood. And I wasn't disappointed. The third book in the series is just as engaging as the previous novels, with the addition of new characters, a look into the famous (or infamous) Helios-Ra Academy, and of course a great romance.

In Out For Blood, the story centers around Hunter Wild, a human attending the Helio-Ra Academy, a training ground for vampire hunters, and Quinn Drake, one of the many sons of the new vampire queen, Helena Drake. I liked how the author, Alyxandra Harvey, focused on the story of Hunter and Quinn, but still continued the stories of the other characters introduced in the first two books.

I also liked the mix of drama and romance in Out For Blood. Harvey created a nice balance between action scenes and romantic interludes. There was also the perfect amount of hilarious dialogue and comedic scenes to relieve the tension of the drama and make the characters believable and realistic.

Harvey has created well developed characters in all three of her books and the story of Hunter and Quinn is interesting and pulled me into the world of the Drake family and the people in their lives.

Hunter Wild comes from a family famous for vampire hunting so she had no hesitation in joining the elite training school that produces Helios-Ra vampire hunters. Her views that all vampires are evil is challenged when she meets the Drake family, and falls for Quinn.

OK it sounds like just another YA teen romance...However, there is much more to this series than just hormones. I don't like YA romance books but I really enjoyed this book so don't be put off by the blurb! There is a lot of action, vampire attacks and humans behaving badly and the romance is nicely mixed in with humour and tension. It is very easy to fall in love with the whole Drake family!

In the first two books we are introduced to the younger brothers, their sister Solange and her human friend Lucy. We also briefly met Hunter in the last book when she mistrusted every vampire. In this book we see a different girl who wants to live up to the family heritage and be the best hunter in her school. She is a kickass heroine who is smart and funny, and I liked her straight away. Her best friend Chloe is an amusing airhead who gives a few funny moments to the plot. I liked seeing the Helios-Ra recruits in a totally different environment where they are not just the people threatening the lives of the Drake family. Here we see them as normal teenagers-worrying about passing exams, worrying that they aren't strong enough to defeat the vampires, having hormonal issues and friendship problems. I liked seeing them as people who think they are doing the right thing, unaware that not all vampires are evil.

There is plenty to enjoy with the Drake family as well. Solange is having trouble adapting to her new vampire life, and fears that her blood cravings mean that there is something wrong with her. I still love the ongoing relationship between Lucy and Nicholas-now THAT is how you write chemistry between two characters! Perhaps some other authors need to take notes here! We also have the continued issues over Helena's disputed crown, the truce between the Drake family and the Helios-Ra and the ongoing battle against the Hel-Blar, who are growing in numbers and intensity. And of course in this book, we get to know Quinn better, which was nice!

The added interest in this book is the problems at the academy because of drug misuse. I liked this story, not only because it brings Hunter and Quinn closer together, but because it shows us the pressure that some of the kids are under to become stronger and better fighters. I'm not going to say anything more about this plot as I don't want to spoil it but there are a few interesting twists and turns.

Overall, another good book in the series!

Another fantastic installment in The Drake Chronicles. I think this one might surpass Hearts at Stake as my favorite.

After learning all about the Vampires in the first two installments it was nice to experience the world of the Helios-Ra (the hunters!). Much like it's predecessors, Out for Blood is told in alternating perspectives between Quinn and Hunter. We're first introduced to Hunter in Blood Feud when she is a guest at the coronation of Helena Drake. Hunter is best friends with Kieran, and although her entire family are die-hard Vampire hunters (well the ones that are alive anyway, her parents were killed by Vampires) she's still open to the alliance between the Helios-Ra and the Vampires. Which I think says a lot about Hunter as a character. And she is an awesome protag and heroine! The girl can kick some ass and she has level head.

While Quinn and his womanizing ways annoyed me in the first two books, I actually had a soft spot for him this time around. I think it really helped getting inside his head and watching the inner turmoil.

And I may have known that Quinn and Hunter would fall for each other.... as far as everything else that goes down in between... let me just say WOW. That was one wicked ride.

This is such a fun series! I can't wait for the next story.... it's going to be Conner's right!?!?

Just soooo in love with Quinn and Hunter !!
I think Hunter is a bit like Lucy but in a more badass way =D
I thought this volume would be less interesting as there were no more "big bad villains" but in fact it was awesome =)
