Take the Bride: A Knight Brothers Novella by Carly Phillips

This was my first Knight Brothers book and not only did it introduce me to their world, which I'm completely excited to read more of, but it reminded me just how good Carly Phillips' writing is.

Ryder Hammond didn't attend Sierra Knight's wedding with the intention to object. He actually came to say goodbye to the memories they had once shared. Ryder and Sierra were each other's first loves and as much as it pained him, she would most likely be his only. Yes, he broke her heart years ago, but with the good intention of letting her live out her dreams. However, when the priest asked the ill-fated question, Ryder found himself standing up and answering, "I do."

Sierra was ready to pledge herself to another man. A good, stable, perhaps not quite passionate man, but still a good man on her wedding day. It took only one moment to change all that. Then she found herself  driving off not with her fiancé-husband, but with her ex to destinations unknown. How did her life get so messed up? A weekend originally planned to spend with her husband turns into a weekend spent with her ex. Can two former lovers turn their lives into something more? Can past hurts be put to rest to actually make a future together?

When the weekend comes to an end and Ryder and Sierra have to come out of the bubble they have been living in, no matter what, reality awaits and consequences have to be met. Ryder and Sierra have decisions to make which may not involve each other beyond their bubble.

What I loved about Take The Bride is that neither Ryder nor Sierra planned anything maliciously. Neither jumped into anything without thought or consideration for others feelings. Yes, this novella is all kinds of steamy, but it is also filled with thought and emotion. For my introduction into the Knight world it deserves an A+.

Wow... What a great second chance romance. Lots of emotional drama and sensual romance. Wish it had been a full length novel but it was awesome anyway. The Epilogue was epic too and makes me wonder if the next story will show any hints of that future or if it comes after that two year gap. Either way, I can't wait for Parker and Ethan's stories.

I loved Ryder and Sierra's story! This book was a quick read, but Ryder and Sierra had such a connection that I don't know how they managed to stay apart so long. Their story was one that I read in one sitting because I enjoyed it so much. Definitely recommend this book and the entire series.

The one line that only works during soap opera wedding's is the one line that makes everything Sierra stand still. In front of family and friends already at the front of the church Ryder stands up and stops the wedding. But will the bride continue with the marriage or will she run away with her high school sweetheart who broke her heart. "If anyone can show cause why this couple cannot lawfully be joined...." can either make or break Sierra's heart. This book had it all. Awesome characters, emotions that go from laughter to tears and a storyline that was a joy to read. Carly Phillips once again does not disappoint.

Take the Bride was a fast paced, sexy, engaging, sweet novella. That grabbed me from the start and never let go, thanks to both the characters and the storyline and I would happily recommend it to others.

This was a great book. Sometimes novella leave me wanting more in the storyline. This book is well rounded. I didn’t feel like I missed anything with the shortened story. Worth the read.
