I started this book expecting a lighthearted and fun story to enjoy, and the book delivered that amazingly. Moreover, it touched some more meaningful themes in a beautiful way as well: identity searching, mental illness, aging loved ones... The main focus is in the lighthearted relationship building, but the deeper moments make me like the book even more.

I must not be the target audience, because I did not enjoy this book at all. The characters were not developed at the beginning and only got more complicated and muddied, and not in an interesting, plot-advancing way, throughout. After reading this I understand them the same as when I began. Immature isn't the right description. Juvenile, maybe? They were both unwilling to advocate for themselves - up until the last page. It was a boring read.

This was a fun, cute read. I loved Finn so much! Seriously, he's an actor famous for being on a paranormal teen drama TV show, speaks Elvish, is a total sweetheart, and is great at communicating and learning how to be better. I'm not sure if there has ever been an MMC more tailor made for me.

Just one more reason why Rachel Lynn Solomon is an auto-buy author for me!

I loved the chemistry between the MCs, and the fact that it didn't automatically translate to the bedroom. The focus on communication in relationships was so great and realistic.

As a geek-girl, I loved the portrayal of Cons and fandoms; there was a nice peek into Hollywood and stardom without losing the primary storyline. Also, any book with mental health representation is a win for me.

All in all, it's exactly what you expect from a contemporary rom-com PLUS real talk about jobs and careers and sex and relationships and mental health and millennial melancholy.
