Seeing the Shadowhunter world through Simon's eyes was refreshing! The new and existing characters bounce off each other brilliantly, thanks to their distinct personalities. A couple of clunky moments could be improved, but overall, it's a delightful read.

"None of this is fair. It isn't fair that part of your life was ripped from you. It's not fair that you were ripped away from me. I'm so angry, Simon."

I am with you, Izzy! I am so angry, too. I love Simon so freaking much. I love him more than I love Jace. And it was torture knowing that a special part of him was stolen. I hate it when he think of himself as a weak, unimportant mundane. I hate it when he think that the Simon who went in the demon realm and fought to save the Shadowhunters was a totally different Simon. Because no, he is Simon Lewis, he was a Daylighter, and he was a hero. He may have forget but other people didn't. I didn't. Some part of him was missing but he's still the same person. I just want him to believe in himself. There are people who love and care for him and yes, he may not remember everything, but can't he feel that love? Can't he trust that love?

I was so happy when Simon returned. Damn, I though he was gone forever. I loved him more for taking a risk and decided to become a Shadowhunter. But it seems like he was not sure of his purpose and that was so disappointing. I know he's going through a lot but what he did to Isabelle was unacceptable! Why, Simon? Why? I can imagine how much courage it took Isabelle to do that! And that was amazing! But damn it, Simon Lewis! You don't have to be a sexy vampire or anything. Don't you understand love? She loves you just the way you are. She loves you because you are Simon Lewis!

Unlike the Bane Chronicles this is actually a story I want to read. I really like Simon and was wondering how he would do at the Shadowhunter Academy. This was a fun read.

I'm so happy we get to read about Simon's training at Shadowhunter Academy. This book really made me remember my love for him and for the Shadow World.

I think it's needless to say I'm seriously in love with Cassie's writing style. I just love the way she lets drops of humor here and there and how she manages to make everything feel so real even tho it's pure fantasy.
I love the new characters Cassandra presents to us and I think they have the potential to make me have little heart attacks every now and then just like her other characters did.

Also, I gotta confess I wasn't sure I was fond of the idea of her exploiting so much this world before, but now I do know I'm definitely going to keep reading these short stories (and any other book, long or short, that she might write).

Spoiler alert🚨 I love Simon! This story had me literally laughing out loud at comments Simon made. I love that they have a Lovelace relation from The Infernal Devices!!! I believe in Simon & hope he can ascend, & get his memories back. I will be so heartbroken if he dies or doesn’t get his memories back. Cassandra is putting us through so much right now. I like how Simon is getting some memories back slowly, it was heartbreaking when he remembered Jordan’s death & how close of a friend he was to him. I liked how Simon voiced his opinion to the Shadowhunter’s who were talking bad about downworlder’s & mundanes. I am rooting for Simon Lewis so I am hoping everything works out. No more heartbreaks please!! Simon & Isabel deserve a happy ending too!!
