Oh my goodness....this book was so funny, yet SO inappropriate. This is basically the story of Junie B. Jones after she grows up, and learns lots of bad language, yet still doesn't have a filter.

Because the "F" word is featured prominently in this book, including in the large-font titles of some chapters, I recommend reading it away from small children and others whose standards of humor are slightly more high-brow.

Also because it is so inappropriately funny, I don't recommend reading it in public places, so you can snort and chortle in peace (AND don't have to explain what is funny, since it will most likely lose something in the re-telling...no, really, dead squirrel puppets, the zombie apocalypse, and necrophilia are HILLARIOUS!!!)

This book just isn't up my alley. While Jenny Lawson certainly has a great sense of humor, I can see myself enjoying her writing as articles or blog entries, but can't sit through an entire book. The run-on sentences just got to me and I could not follow a single train of thought.

Sad to say I couldn't complete it.

It has been a long, long time since a book--or anything, really--has made me laugh as hard as "Let's Pretend This Never Happened" did. I seriously could not read it in public because if I had I would have made a scene. Jenny's humor is definitely not for the faint-of-heart, as nothing--sex, bodily functions, cow vaginas, etc--is sacred. Nevertheless, her writing is just hilarious. She obviously has some good material to start with; her family is nuts but totally lovable. Her childhood sort of reminded me of my own rural upbringing, and I too often find myself thinking, "This could only happen to ME." I think everyone can relate to that sometimes. The difference is in the way Jenny tells these stories and her ability to turn a situation that is pretty funny into a story that is downright hilarious. Reading her book reminded me that instead of being frustrated or embarrassed by the ridiculous, I should see the humor in it and recognize that life would be pretty boring without it.

I read Jenny's books out of order. I read Furiously Happy first and I adored it. It made me laugh so much.

Let's Pretend This Never Happened was no different. She's a fabulous writer and person. Her quirkiness is my favorite. Because it's a random collection of stories, the lack of sequence isn't concerning. This is the perfect book/author to read when you're feeling down and want a pick me up. She'll most definitely make you laugh.

Awesome read. I listened to most of it. What I feel lacked in this one was the same type of humour from "Furiously Happy", and at times I felt the humour was generally lacking.

I did thoroughly enjoy this book, and, therefore, I'd recommend it!

This book is a perfect companion to the author's blog. It provides great background for many of the continuing sagas of her life that she talks about on a weekly basis.

Oh yeah, and it's exceedingly funny (probably should have led with that).

I only wish the photos were a bit larger/clearer (maybe an artifact of being the paperback version?).

HIGHLY recommended for people with a sense of humor. If you don't have one, you may be a bit confused.
