Quick, exciting and mysterious. Even though this has been written for a younger audience, I still really enjoyed it! Can't wait to read the rest.

This was a fun story, I don't know if i'm super invested in it quite yet, didn't expect the amount of tragedy there is in the early stages and I feel like it's a bit glossed over for the adventure that follows, but I may give the next volume a go and see how the story gets fleshed out before I make my call ont he series as a whole. The art is super pretty though!

I’m re reading this series again right now(may 2020) and it’s bringing back a lot of good memories from reading it in elementary school. The art style is wonderful and the world feels magical.

I can see how the story could get better, but everything happens almost too quickly. Some of the dialogue is incredibly cheesy even for a middle grade book.

Amulet was a very cute graphic novel. Perhaps it was too cute. To be fair, this is a children's graphic novel, aimed towards kids, so for that I think it hit the spot completely. There are all kinds of cute, fun characters, from a bunny rabbit to robots. And the main characters are children, too.

So, for me, this wasn't quite to my taste (C+)--it was a little too simplistic. But for it's intended purposes, for children, I think it's perfect (A). Which would round it out to a B grade. The story was just scary enough to keep the pages turning, but it's lightened with some really fun characters. I could actually see this more as a kid's movie than a graphic novel, but it works here too, I guess.

I would recommend this if you like to read graphic novels to or with your children. They would probably love it.
