I'm newish to learning about Druidry, so I've received some pointers as to where I can start with practicing some of the principles of Druidry and in general, feeling more connected to nature in the urban environment where I live.

My main criticisms of the book are in part due to the fact no research appears to be cited, despite claims that some information comes from other sources, or that research backs up the author's opinion.

The second is I felt the writing style was too casual for my tastes. It felt a bit like Facebook comments in places and there were some old fashioned language and assumptions around sexuality and gender, as well as health. I'm a heslthcare professional and a strong believer in evidencing claims so people can be informed about decisions affecting their wellbeing.

It made me think of if I asked a friend for advice, in terms of how it was written... however, maybe this works for some people and their learning journey. It's very accessible and non academic, which may be appealing to some people.

I'm going to try and put some of the principles into practice and read more on druidry however and I don't feel that reading it was a waste of time in terms of my level of understanding of the subject area.

This was just okay, unfortunately.

The material inside is entry level and basic, which is fine. However I didn't get a strong sense that this was focused so heavily on urban living even though it's right in the title. The author does give some examples when living in an urban environment but they're nothing I hadn't read before in arguably better books which aren't focused on urban practice. I felt the author could have gone further.

The language of this book is so casual! There's nothing wrong with an easy read, however it was so casual it sometimes read more like a blog entry. I felt this could have been done up just a tad, as it cheapened the experience for me. A published material should have a bit more flair.

If you're looking for something short and easy, this is a great stepping off point however.

2.5 stars. pretty good, but a lot of run on sentences and I wasn't a fan of the style. a good intro, though.

Gave good basic information for druid practice. But most of it focused on 'find the closest bit of big nature' which i found rather limited for a book that bills itself about an urban druid practice.
