The writing was just as magical as the previous book. It really feels like I'm in Emily's world. It was enjoyable to spend more time exploring Faerie and getting to learn about even more of the Folk who inhabit the world.
The story itself was very fun, it kept me on my toes with wondering what was going to happen next. There were a few mysteries that got unraveled and some left to explore in the next book. I'm very excited to see where the next journey takes us!
I dreaded having to put the book down, I just wanted to spend the whole day reading it! I'm definitely going to do another read through before the third book comes out!

Wendall, of course, is my favorite, closely followed by Shadow. Emily herself is a hit or miss - she's so wrapped up in herself that she refuses to see logic the majority of the time (at least, what logic there can be when you're dealing with the fae), and gets herself and her companions into a whole bunch of messes that are unnecessary, to say the least.
She spends the majority of the book dancing around Wendall's marriage proposal, and the rest of the book ignoring the common sense that everyone else seems to have aside from her.
There are a few things that seemed to come out of nowhere -
Wendall, truly, is the only one with any sense here.
Moderate: Death and Blood
