Essential read for folks interested in imagination and all it entails. A new world lays in wait, ready to be built if we so dream.

Thought provoking and challenging in considerate ways. And a much needed reminder about the importance of imagination.

Imagination: a manifesto by Ruha Benjamin is the book I needed to read right now. I can not say enough good things about this book. If you are already reading Benjamin’s work thanks for your patience. If you haven’t yet read any of Benjamin’s work, PLEASE do not wait as long as I did to get started. I could ramble about this book for days. I will limit my bookish joy to these 2 things:
- I absolutely loved how this book meshed together so many ideas, movies, books, concepts and discussions that are part of the fabric of my life.
- As someone completely dissatisfied with democracy in America right now and absolutely at a loss for why to show up at the polls in November, this is a light at the end of the tunnel for me. A clear path forward underpinned by real examples, in the real world. Ruha Benjamin says, It doesn’t have to be like this. Let me show you a way forward.
