i wanna go to camp QUILTBAG!

i thought QUILTBAG was a really fun way of organizing the LBGTQIA+ community label. and the fact that all the campers were called different words for knitting and crocheting!

Abigail and Kai were so sweet and so lovable. and so YOUNG. there were times where i cringed a little at their grievances because they’re So twelve and thirteen year old grievances, but it tracks bc they’re twelve and thirteen!!

i loved watching them come into their own and gain confidence and make queer friends. bc it’s hard!! i feel that especially as an adult!! making queer friends is hard!!

i also loved the idea of being able to change name and pronouns as the characters saw fit. not everyone identifies as cis or feels comfortable identifying with the same gender expression every day!!

this book was so open and openhearted and Kind and i just love summer camp books 😭
