The cookbook started out well by having an introduction section on vegetarianism, the benefits of going vegetarian, and items to have in your pantry. However, there are many issues with the actual recipes themselves.
The recipes are supposed to have 5 ingredients, but those ingredients do not include items from the pantry or fridge. I feel the cookbook is misleading because for example flour, garlic, cinnamon, pears, and walnuts are listed as the 5 ingredients for Supreme Pear Soup whereas butter, sugar, blue cheese, and water are from the cupboard. I do not know many people that just have blue cheese in their fridge and if a person has sugar in their pantry, I would assume they would also have flour, so I do not understand how the ingredients are divided up, but that is not my main point. My main point is that many of the recipes have more than 5 ingredients, so if you do not have a well-stocked pantry, you will have to buy more than 5 ingredients to make them.
Also, the recipes are not all vegetarian and there are recipes that ask for chicken stock, mackerel, salmon, salami, bacon, and Worcestershire sauce (the sauce contains anchovies). The recipes also do not say to use vegetarian bacon for example, but instead, the recipe for the BLT Wrap literally says to use bacon in a VEGETARIAN cookbook.
Lastly, none of the recipes include photos. I find it helpful to see what the dishes look like so I can decide what to make, but considering the recipes are not 100% vegetarian and have more than 5 ingredients, I think the pictures are the least problematic part of this cookbook.
I cannot recommend this cookbook at all, and if you are looking for an easy vegetarian cookbook, look elsewhere because this is not it.
