My Environmental Science teacher asked us to read the book and watched the older version of The Lorax. Then we compared it to another video and answered some questions about how it relates to the real world. Unfortunately it relates a lot. If we don’t take care of our resources, they will be used up before they could be replenished. Once they are used up, there’s nothing we can do. It’s done and we will have to look for a substitute or find a way to live without it.
Even though kids are too young to fully understand deforestation, slash and burn, and etc, The Lorax is a good start.

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot nothing is going to get better, it's not.
Would give it 4 stars but some of the made up words felt less intentional than others.

50 years ago Dr. Seuss was warning of over consumption of natural resources and pollution of the environment in his book for children. He also lay down a challenge to his readers to be the ones to counter these disasters.
It is also wonderfully written with tongue twisting made up words that are a lot fun.
