This Body's Not Big Enough for Both of Us by Edgar Cantero

This book is... somewhat daft. It sees a person with 2 sets of DNA in their body (a chimera in effect), and the chimera is so well developed that there are effectively 2 personalities in the body. One a female who runs on emotion, and one male who is all analytical (stereotypical much?). The character works as a private investigator.

This person is called in to help take down a California drug cartel, and solve the murder of one of the cartel leader's sons. There is someone undercover with the cartel, so they end up working together, and the PI flips between the 2 characters in their body as they solve the case.

It wasn't a bad book, but I couldn't get over the inherent daftness of the premise. If you can, you'll enjoy it more than I did I think.

This book was definitely out of my comfort zone, 1) being a mystery/detective novel, 2) being a comedy. I am not one for reading either, but Cantero's writing was fast-paced and engaging, which I enjoyed. I found I am still not one for this genre-- and that is okay, just a personal preference thing. But I would highly recommend this book from Cantero if you are looking for something quick and witty with loveable characters.

very hard to get through the forst few pages, the tone is nothing like I ever read before, but the moment i got used to it i literally couldn't put it down. Started and finished the same day.

It has some incredible plot subversions and the nystery really sucks you in, specially because of the protagonist(s). It is a WILD RIDE for sure.

although it was recommended to me with jekyll and hyde vibe, i do not agree lol. but a solid read either way
