What a brave story. I found it helpful that she started with the history of Pakistan, as I had very little knowledge on this topic. Bringing it forward through her family history and then her personal story made it flow. If only more people had her courage to stand up for what’s right!

I love Malala`s voice in this book. You can really feel her authenticity and earnestness for what she believes. Her story is incredible and I appreciated learning about Swat and Pakistan and the culture of the people that live there. This was a wonderful read.

Everyone should read this book. Not only to learn about the rise of the Taliban in Pakistan, not only to learn about the civilian's perspective vs media & politicians, but also to be reminded of how fortunate we are to live in a safe environment with our first-world problems. Malala's spirit and determination is so inspiring. Whatever comes her way, she continues on with the knowledge that she has an important role to play in this world, a role that can change the course of many lives through education. Yet she is so engaging, so positive, so courageous. She doesn't understand why she has captured the hearts of people around the world. It's not just because she was shot by the Taliban. She was already growing in fame before that happened. It's her spirit and determination that grabs us. I'm excited to see what she can accomplish!
