Every story in this collection is absolutely worth a read. I think there's a little something in here for every Weird fic and horror fan: witchcraft, doppelgangers, unknowable cosmic entities, sunken houses, and much more. I greatly enjoyed most of the stories and particular got a kick out of "The Buchanan Boys Ride Again," which was such a thrill that I would venture to say that if someone were to only have the time to read one story from this collection, that would be the one I'd recommend.

I read a fair amount of horror novels hoping they will have the specific type of weird vibes that I crave. I do not really have the words to accurately describe those vibes but I will say I am often disappointed (I still enjoy the books but they aren't like, my exact brand, you know). This book, however...has The Weird. My favorite type of weird. I loved it. Southern gothic settings. Vaguely unsettling? But then the dread, unexplainable and unfathomable horrors, the Other. And inclusive! A great variety of stories, many of which will be sticking with me. This was a library read (I liked the font and the spooky cover lol) but now it's on my buy list.

Only a few stories I didn't like. But I liked it for the most part. A few stories really kicked ass
