I love fairytale retellings and this was just a perfect example of one. I will honestly be getting the next books!

I have read both this novel and Dokey's book Kissed and have come to one conclusion; there are no villains.
Even in Cinderella (Before Midnight), the evil stepmother is not evil. The stepsisters are not completely horrible. And Rapunzel - well.
Dokey's stories are totally unique.

Once (Once Upon a Time #9;11;15) by Cameron Dokey - This omnibus contains Before Midnight, Golden, and Wild Orchid. All three retellings are fabulous YA fairy tales! Happy Reading!

Before midnight is really three books in one. It features retellings of the popular tales of Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Mulan.

I loved how the author made the stories more believable, while still maintaining a fairy tale quality. I really enjoyed the French twist on the Cinderella retelling (Before Midnight) and the retelling of Mulan (Wild Orchid). The Rapunzel (Golden) retelling was good, but in my opinion was the weakest of the three stories.

It was a very cute and enjoyable read. Some of the more enjoyable fairy tale retellings I've read in a while.
