Strong start, but it didn't stick the landing. The final act was weak and rife with tactless tropes.

Very fun. Plenty of humor mixed with pop horror tropes and Scooby Doo, but certainly not the peak of literature. It could just be me, but the action scenes were just a little bit drawn out for my taste. If you really enjoyed this, I would highly recommend A Step Past Darkness by Vera Kurian- supernatural mines explored by a ragtag group of kids-turned-adults.

This was such a fun, campy, mystery-filled ride! Scooby-Doo meets Lovecraft, with REAL monsters. They have different names and personalities, but give nods to the characters we love from the cartoons. My favorite character was definitely Tim the Weimaraner! This was written partially like a normal novel and partially like a screenplay, complete with stage directions and asides, which could be distracting but honestly was entertaining as well. Lots of twists and turns, and an ending that I absolutely did not see coming! I enjoyed this book quite a bit.
