Perhaps doesn't have the emotional punch or depth of storytelling as Cold Bath Street, and some of the story seemed rushed in places and stretched in others.

That said, I enjoyed the book and once again we delved into Preston's ghostly heritage and the wonderful legend that is Written Stone Lane. I also really appreciated the little historical touches that rooted the novel in a real place and time.

Also, a big plus are the two teenage main characters. I really cared about them and really rooted for them to have a chance of a future together.
