Usually, I am a non-fiction reader who occasionally experiments with other genres. There is a special place for sci-fi novels, and now for Dune, in my heart, as we can observe many points that criticise the social order - past and current, it is applicable.
Between the lines of Dune, I found many Individual and Social themes, Ecological Literacy, Material and Spiritual, Psychological, Emotional Intelligence ("the inward stare") and Generational connections that reminded me of Buddism and the Buddist understandings. Jessica becoming a Reverend Mother is such a profound moment for the latter, it reminded me of my recent discovery - Thich Nhat Hanh's "Reconciliation: Healing The Inner Child".

I will leave the rest to the next reader, for the moment I will just share a couple of lines out of their context, and in a non-chronological order
I Am A Theatre Of Processes
Choose Your Own Course
We Carry Our Past With Us
Be Prepared To Appreciate What You Meet
From The Top Of The Mountain, You Cannot See the Mountain.
The physical qualities of a planet are written into its economic and political records.
He Was A Man Fighting Constantly to Escape the Bars of an Invisible Cage
The World is a Carcass
Hope Clouds Observation
You Have Depths in You
If Wishes Were Fishes We Would All Cast Nets
When law and duty are one, united by religion, you never become fully conscious, fully aware of yourself. You are always a little less than an individual.
...and so on.

It's easy to see why Frank Herbert's Dune has been so influential in the fantasy genre. This novel clearly inspired Star Wars, The Drahon Prince trilogy, the Cosmere, and A Song of Ice and Fire. Dune is truly fantasy done right with a perfect blend of mystical magic and cut throat politics in a fantastical universe with intricate world building. My only complaint is that the book isn't longer. There is a time jump that skips over so much pivotal character growth.

Fear is the mind killer, don't know what people are on about - this book is easy to read!!

The prose is a lil weird sometimes but overall, easy to follow and incredible story.
