You will love this short but sweet love story about Mathew and Dexter. There past is a bit complicated. Mathew held resentment toward the man that his father saw as more then a son then himself. When they are brought back together for Mathew’s sisters wedding Dex is determined to make things right and make Mathew his forever. This book was cute and sweet and I loved it from start to finish. I can’t wait to r d the next book in this series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

While reading this, I checked and double checked that I hadn't already read this and mistakenly not marked it as read as I had a strong sense of deja vu while reading this. I'm certain that while I didn't actually read this exact book, I've read the same, or nearly identical storyline... the gay, non-jock son who was a disappointment to his father, the father's surrogate son in the form of a siblings BF or BFF, who also ends up being gay.

So, unoriginal storyline. The first two chapters are mainly telling. In fact, most of the book was just telling with inspersed dialogue exchanges, sometimes rather lengthy.

I had no grasp of the characters personalities. I also think it is a little shitty for his sister and especially his mother to act as though they love and support Matthew while still bothering with the bigoted father. I'm sorry, but if you standby your husband ignore your son and then use derogatory and hurtful speech towards you once he comes out, driving your son from his home and family, you've been complicit in his bigotry. And if my father talked like that to my sibling and best friend, you better believe I'd tell him to lose his invitation my wedding.
